Tim Ayers is a native of Rock Hill. He is part of the Northwestern High School family Class of 1986. He began his Law Enforcement career with the Rock Hill Police Department in 1994. He served on Patrol as a zone officer and shift supervisor until moving to the Criminal Investigation Division in 1999. During his 14 years in CID he worked Property Crimes such as auto theft, car break-ins, burglaries and such until 2006 when he became the Gang Detective for RHPD on a Grant until 2009. In 2009 he began working Persons Crimes which is Robberies, assaults, and Homicides.
He was also sworn in as a FBI Task Force Officer and began working on 2 major federal cases involving Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs in the Rock Hill area. The first case, Black Diamond, successfully prosecuted members of the Outlaws MC where several members received 20 plus year sentences and closed the chapter in Rock Hill. A 2 year investigation against the Hells Angels MC, “Rock Hell” Nomad Chapter, Red Devils MC, and Southern Gentlemen MC led to 25 arrests with sentences of probation to 25 plus years for RICO. Hundreds of illegal guns were purchased along with large amounts of prescription pills, marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamine were made as well. This was the first ever successful prosecution of RICO against the Hells Angels MC in the United States.
He continued to work Persons Crimes until he was promoted to Sergeant on patrol in June of 2013. In May of 2015 he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant over the Community Service Unit where he continues to serve today. The Community Service Unit oversees the School Resource Officers, Community Service Officers, the Worthy Boys & Girls Camp, Safety Patrol for the Elementary schools along with coordination of community events involving the police department.
