• John graduated NHS in 2001 as co-salutatorian, then attended Clemson, MUSC, Johns Hopkins and Mass General.  He is currently an assistant Professor of Radiology and Radiological Science at MUSC.

    Dr. Nance received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, where he was elected a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland, where he was given the RSNA Roentgen Resident Research Award in 2015. He also completed an Imaging Informatics mini-fellowship while at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Nance then completed a Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Nance's clinical and research interests include novel cardiac CT acquisition and reconstruction techniques, rare lung diseases, pulmonary infections, quantitative cardiopulmonary imaging, and outcomes analysis. He has written several book chapters and authored or co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed manuscripts. He is a member and serves on committees of several national and international societies.
