My name is Scott Long (Northwestern High Class of 1987) After graduation from high school, I enrolled at Winthrop University (then Winthrop College) and earned a degree in Marketing. I never really wanted to be a Marketing major. I had always enjoyed English and wanted to teach, but several friends convinced me that being a Business major was the way to go. After graduation, I worked several jobs that never brought satisfaction. In 2008, I decided to enroll again at Winthrop and pursue my passion of being an English teacher. I am now in my 6th year of teaching high school at Rock Hill High (of all places! 😊) and I truly feel that I was always meant to teach. So, the moral of my story is this: Pursue your passion and not a paycheck! That is the key to a fulfilling career.
