After graduating high school in 2006, I attended Erskine College where I received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with an emphasis in biochemistry. I then moved to Charleston, SC where I went to the Medical University of South Carolina School of Pharmacy and completed the Doctor of Pharmacy program in May 2014. Knowing I wanted to be a pediatric clinical pharmacist, I stayed in Charleston and finished two years of Pharmacy Residency, a general hospital-focused first year and a pediatric-specific second year. My first job, once residency was complete, was as the NICU Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. After a year, I moved into my current position at Children's National Medical Center.
I am currently the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for Cardiac Intensive Care and Solid Organ Transplant at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC. I work with an interdisciplinary medical team every day and round on pediatric patients with heart disease in order to ensure they are receiving the best medication therapy.
