Demenia Coleman

I am very excited to be teaching at Northwestern! I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. As a graduate of Binghamton University, with a B.A. in English, and a recent graduate of Grand Canyon University, with a M. of Ed. in Secondary Education, I am eager to begin my teaching career at Northwestern. I have enjoyed teaching a variety of English courses like World Literature and American Literature. Having experience as a track and field athlete in high school and college, I am happy to be an assistant track and field coach for the Trojans. In my spare time, I love to shop, eat out, and spend time with my friends and family. I have been married to my husband Joseph for 14 years and we have two boys and two girls.

Teaching young people has always been a dream of mine and I am truly thankful that I'll be doing what I love most: inspiring young minds to become the best person they can be. Through reading and writing, I hope to open their eyes and inspire them to lead a fulfilling life where they can thrive in today's world. It is my belief that teachers who love teaching, teach students to love learning.
