I grew up in Columbia, S.C. where I attended Dreher High School. After high school I attended the College of Charleston where I earned Bachelor's degrees in History and Studio Art (focus on photography). During and after college I was a tour guide for the Charleston Museum, a concierge at Charleston Place hotel, and office manager for Charleston Walks Tour Company. I became an insurance agent and after a year decided that my true passion was teaching.

I went back to school and earned my MAT in Social Studies at The Citadel. My first two years of teaching were at North Charleston High School where I taught World History, coached cheerleading and was the yearbook sponsor. I began year three at Wando High School in the Ninth Grade Academy teaching World History and then World Geography. I spent six years at Wando where I sponsored Photography Club and Whovians of Wando (a fan club for the show Doctor Who).

I have been blessed to take students abroad to Europe during the summers of 2018 and 2019. I love to travel and experience new things. My husband, 2 dogs and I moved to the area to be closer to family at the beginning of 2020. I have been involved with ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø as a substitute teacher and then as the Social Studies teacher at the Renaissance Academy. I am looking forward to being part of the Northwestern family and having an awesome year!
