Ms. Lisa Clowney
Hello! I'm Felicia Tillmon-Clowney, but I go by Lisa Clowney. I've dedicated 22 years (21 years in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø) as a classroom teacher. I've taught 2nd - 5th grades. I spent 2 years serving as a substitute teacher and/or math interventionist as I was transitioning back into the classroom full-time. For the past four years, I've been teaching 5th grade in the Rock Hill Virtual Academy, including a year serving Gifted and Talented students.
I earned my BS in Elementary Education from Winthrop University in 1998 and later completed my M.Ed. in Technology in Education at Lesley University. In addition, I hold a Gifted and Talented Teacher endorsement.
Outside of work, my husband and I stay busy with our middle school-aged triplets, who are heavily involved in various extracurricular activities. In my spare time, I enjoy listening to audiobooks and podcasts, playing a variety of games with family and friends, exploring new places through travel, and indulging in the occasional wander through Target.
My mission as a teacher is to cultivate a classroom environment where students are inspired to engage in problem-solving, ask questions, embrace continuous learning, and experience personal growth. Through fostering a safe and supportive atmosphere, I hope to encourage curiosity, creativity, and resilience. I strive to empower students to tackle challenges with confidence and develop a lifelong love for learning.
