Bryan Hidalgo

I am from Upper Tumapoc, Burgos, La Union, Philippines. I belong to the Ibaloi tribe, which is one of the indigenous tribes of the Cordilleras. I have previously taught one year at Saint Louis School – Girl’s High School Department in Baguio City; eight years at Saint Louis University in Baguio City; more than four years at Burgos National High School in Burgos, La Union; and worked for almost four years as Mathematics Education Program Supervisor at the Curriculum and Learning Management Division of DepEd CAR Regional Office.

I finished Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics and Master of Arts in Mathematics Education from Saint Louis University, Baguio City, Philippines. I am currently working on my dissertation leading to the degree, Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership and Management from Universidad de Dagupan, Philippines.

As a Mathematics teacher, I always ensure that my learners can acquire problem-solving and critical thinking skills so that they are able to reason mathematically, construct plausible arguments, evaluate the reasoning of others, and ask useful questions to clarify or improve the arguments. I see teaching as both a profession and a vocation to educate the learners to become functional members of society.
