Noemy de Orozco
I am Noemy Orozco (pronounced: no-eh-MEE aw-rOHs-koh). Or you can simply call me Ms. O. I am from Venezuela, the northernmost country in South America. I attended the University of Carabobo, where I earned a Bachelor's in Modern Language Education (English) and a Master's in Education (Reading and Writing). I have been teaching English and Spanish for 19 years now, most of which have been at the middle and high school levels.
In 2015, I was selected to participate in a Global Education program that brought me to the USA as an Exchange Visitor Teacher and Cultural Ambassador. After 8 years of living here, my husband George and I have come to love this country as our own. We love its history, its people (Southern folks, especially), and all the beautiful places we have visited (19 states and counting!). From all these, the Carolinas hold a special place in our hearts. I was a teacher in NC for 7 years, but in 2022 I decided to cross the state line and become a certified teacher in SC. I have loved every day of my teaching experience here.
This year, I am thrilled to be entering my 20th year in education, 9th in the USA, 2nd in SC, and 1st in NHS as a Spanish teacher. I have taught all the levels, but now I will be teaching Spanish 2. I am very thankful for this opportunity and can't wait to meet my students personally. I look forward to sharing my language and culture with the school community.
George and I recently moved to Rock Hill. We go to church in Kings Mountain, NC. In my free time, I love cooking, traveling, photography, learning languages, reading, singing, music, and creating content on social media.
