Lisa Baker
Hi there! I am Lisa Baker and I am the Literacy Coach at Mt. Gallant. I work side by side with teachers, planning, problem solving, and modeling best practices in reading and writing. It is challenging work, but I enjoy the balance of teaching both students and teachers!
I am originally from Florence SC, but have called Rock Hill “home” since 1994. I am a Winthrop graduate and have attained National Board Certification in Literacy. I am approaching my 24th year of teaching, which is hard to believe! My background is mostly in Early Childhood, along with many years of teaching Reading Recovery. I even spent a brief year teaching first grade for Rock Hill’s Virtual Academy. I have a wonderful husband of almost 19 years and a fourth grade daughter who is also a Mt. Gallant Knight! I enjoy reading, cooking, and playing games in my free time.
