Degrees and Certifications:

Catherine Williams

I am proud to be a product of the Rock Hill School District.  After graduating from Columbia College with a B.A. in Elementary Education, I returned to Rock Hill to begin my career teaching fourth grade at Belleview Elementary School.  I earned a master's degree from Winthrop University and soon moved to teaching in the district's academically gifted and talented program.  An additional 30 post-graduate hours above my master's degree included specific coursework in gifted education and brought the total to 21 graduate and post-graduate hours of training in the field.  I earned National Board Certification as a Middle Childhood Generalist in 2002 and renewed my certification in 2012.  In 2009 I also earned a Professional Achievement Certificate from the National Association of Gifted Children; this program required independent research and study with an expert in the gifted field, and my focus was on the social and emotional needs of gifted children. I completed additional training with SENG (Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted) in 2011.  I currently serve as the district's Elementary Lead GT Teacher and continue to find great joy in teaching!

I have two grown children who live nearby, and we see each other often.  I love to play music, to read, and to learn new skills.
