My name is Kayla Simpson. I grew up in Starr, South Carolina. I graduated from Lander University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I taught for 6 years in Greenwood, South Carolina where I was honored as the 2018-2019 Teacher of the Year. I moved to Rock Hill in 2019 and shortly graduated with a Master of Education degree from Liberty University as a Reading Specialist. In between my degrees, I completed coursework for Teaching English as a Second Language and Instructional Technology. I am Read to Succeed Literacy Teacher certified. I have experience teaching 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades.

 

I enjoy reading dystopian future novels, drawing portraits, learning new languages, and traveling to beautiful places! Fun facts about me: I've met 76 celebrities and was the 2023 Ms. SC Strawberry Director's Choice Winner.
