Hello! I’m Melissa Burns and I am excited to join STMS this year as a 6th grade Social Studies teacher. I have over a decade of experience from schools thoughout South Carolina. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Francis Marion University. I am also an accredited ABC Arts Integration Teacher Leader. Over the years, I’ve taught 2nd-8th grades at several schools across the state, including teaching 3rd-8th grades at The Palmetto School in Rock Hill. I strive to integrate arts and STEM into my curriculum as much as possible. Outside the classroom, I enjoy attending musicals in Charlotte, trivia nights, and spending time with my family. I strive to provide students with the tools that they need to be successful by allowing them to present their learning in a variety of ways.
