I am Virginia McCallister, and I am the Visual Arts Teacher at Northside Elementary School of the Arts. Prior to teaching, I was a practicing Architect in Columbia, SC.  I have an undergraduate degree in Design and a master’s degree in Architecture from Clemson University. I enjoy working with children and hope to be able to share some of the experiences and knowledge from the world of architecture to the students here at Northside. 

Art is such a multi-faceted study, and it is fascinating to see how it can tie in to so many aspects of learning.  As an ABC (Arts in the Basic Curriculum school) school, Northside has really helped me learn how arts education can be successfully integrated into the general education classroom, and I enjoyed being able to participate as much as possible.
