I currently serve as the Director of Bands at South Pointe High School in Rock Hill SC where I have held this position since 2006. Prior to South Pointe I was Director of Bands at Lincolnton High School 1999-2006, Lincolnton Middle School1998-1999 and Cherryville High School 1996-1998. During my tenure the bands have earned superior ratings in marching and concert band, numerous class championships and many grand champion honors. The band has consistently been state finalist and earned the SCBDA Outstanding Performance Award. I earned my Masters of Music Education in Instrumental Conducting and Bachelors of Music Education and Tuba Performance at Appalachian State University. I studied conducting under Dr. William Gora and Tuba under Robert Clark. I actively performed in many ensembles at ASU including Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Tuba Ensemble and Symphonic Band.
I served on the Board of Directors for Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps and am currently on the advisory council. I am the chairmen of BandBeat for Carolina Crown and also the housing coordinator. I am a member of American School Band Directors Association, Pi Kappa Lambda, National Band Association, National Association for Music Education, South Carolina Music Educators Association and South Carolina Band Directors Association.
