Are you ready for a thrilling year in Third Grade??? It is a challenging but rewarding year for students. Teachers will work hard to help students acquire skills to take on more responsibility for their learning. Students will learn study skills, test taking strategies, and spend more time working independently.
In Third Grade, we have an abundance of exciting curriculum. Your student will go from "learning to read" to "reading to learn". Also, they will go from "learning to write" to "writing to communicate". In Social Studies, our BIG focus is Places Around the World, Environments and People Natural Disasters and Explorers. Science leads us through learning about Forces Around Us, Life Cycles, Environments and Weather. In math, we work hard to continue to develop and extend skills learned in Second Grade. We learn many new math concepts, such as, multiplication, division, and fractions. In third grade, we work hard, but we play hard too!
