RHHS is proud to offer a variety of advanced classes in our curriculum.
At the beginning of the junior year, students may qualify to take either Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), or dual credit classes.

GIFTED AND TALENTED
Students identified as academically gifted/talented are served through participation in the preparatory International Baccalaureate (IB) and Advanced Placement (AP) classes in the areas of advanced math, language arts, science, social studies and foreign language. Although admission into these classes is self-selecting, students qualifying as gifted/talented on the South Carolina State Department of Education guidelines are encouraged to participate in these academically advanced classes in grades 6-10.
At grade 11, these students are encouraged to apply for admission into either the IB or AP programs. Parents who have students in the advanced 9th and 10th grade classes are encouraged to allow their child to continue in a challenging academic high school curriculum. Typically, students who have been successful in the advanced track in middle school and in the 9th and 10th grade are usually capable of being successful in the IB or AP programs, even if involved in extracurricular activities.
