Hi! My name is Kim Nelson. I have been married for 40 years and have a son, a daughter and 3 grandsons. My family is my joy and I'm very glad to say we are very close and spend lots of time together. I have been a teacher for over 25 years and I love what I do! Outside of loving my students, I love being outside working in my yard to plant flowers and pull pesky weeds. If my grandsons are outside with me, we often catch lizards or go for a walk in the woods. Reading is my weakness so another of my favorite things to do is curl up in a chair with a great book and a steaming cup of hot chocolate for as long as I can. 

 

I'm excited to begin a new year and learn alongside my new students! Of course, we will improve our reading and math skills, but we'll also work on asking questions, demonstrating kindness, and becoming leaders in both small and big ways. We will work on learning how to research topics in books and on the internet, create PowerPoint presentations, and write essays. We will practice encouraging one another, take pride when our whole class masters a skill, and use our failures and mistakes as opportunities to learn. I'm ready for our year so let's get to it!
